Privacy Policy
Effective 7 October 2026
Bayou Applications LLC (“Bayou Apps”, “we”, “us”) makes Mac software, including Moor, and runs the websites bayouapps.com and moorapp.com. This policy explains what personal information we handle and why. The short version: our apps don't track you, and we collect as little as we can.
Who is responsible
Bayou Applications LLC, a Louisiana limited liability company, is the controller of the personal information described here. Contact: legal@bayouapps.com.
Our apps (including Moor)
- No analytics, no tracking, no accounts. Our apps do not collect usage data or send it to us.
- Your settings and content stay on your Mac. Moor's profiles, docks and preferences are stored on your Mac, and in your own iCloud Drive only if you turn on sync. We never receive them.
- API keys and tokens you enter for services such as Shopify, Stripe, RevenueCat, App Store Connect or GitHub are stored in the macOS Keychain and sent only to that service, directly from your Mac. We never receive them.
- Third-party services you choose to connect receive requests from your Mac under their own privacy policies. For example: Open-Meteo for weather (your chosen city or approximate location), Apple's iTunes Search API for album artwork (artist and album name), and the services you connect for revenue and developer widgets.
- Update checks. The app periodically requests our update feed from moorapp.com. As with any web request, this reveals your IP address, and the request includes the app and macOS versions.
- License keys are verified on your Mac, offline. Activation does not contact us.
- Diagnostics. Crash and hang logs are written to your Mac (~/Library/Logs/Moor) and are never sent automatically. If you email us a report, we use it only to help you.
Our websites
- Waitlist. If you join a waitlist, we store your email address, the time you signed up, and a one-way hash of your IP address used only to prevent spam. We use your email only to tell you about the product you signed up for. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
- No cookies or trackers. Our sites do not set cookies, load third-party fonts or use advertising or analytics trackers.
- Hosting. Our sites are hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver and protect the sites.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Stripe, our merchant of record (through Stripe Managed Payments). Stripe collects your payment details and handles payment, tax and receipts under its own privacy policy; we never see your full payment card details. We receive your name, email address, country and order details so we can issue your license, provide support and handle refunds. We keep these records as long as needed for those purposes and to meet legal and tax obligations.
How we use information and our legal bases
We use the information above to provide and support our products (performance of a contract), to send waitlist updates you asked for (consent, which you can withdraw), to prevent fraud and abuse (legitimate interests), and to comply with law (legal obligation). We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
Sharing
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run our business — Stripe (payments) and Cloudflare (hosting and data storage) — and when required by law. They may process data in the United States and other countries; where required, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards.
Retention
Waitlist emails are kept until the product launches and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to delete them. Order and license records are kept as long as your license is active and as required for tax and accounting.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California law), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Email legal@bayouapps.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Our products are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and notify you of material changes where required.
