# How to hide your revenue numbers while screen sharing on Mac

Use two layers. First, share one window in Zoom, Meet or FaceTime so your other tabs and apps stay private. Then hide the numbers that are still visible. A blur extension can mask figures inside a Stripe or Shopify tab, and a Focus mode keeps notification banners away. If your sales show in Moor's dock widgets, turn on Hide Revenue Figures yourself or let Moor's automatic options replace the amounts with dots.

## Where revenue numbers leak on a shared screen

When a founder shares their screen, sales numbers usually turn up in three places:

- **Inside the window you share.** A Stripe or Shopify dashboard left open in a tab, or a spreadsheet showing MRR.
- **Notification banners.** A "New order" or payout alert that slides in halfway through your demo.
- **Always-visible widgets.** A sales tile in your dock or menu bar that stays on screen no matter which app is in front.

Each of these needs a different fix, and no single setting handles all three. The sections below go through the manual options first and then the automatic ones, so you can choose the combination that takes the least effort.

## The manual fixes: share less, blur more, mute banners

### Share one window, not the whole screen

Start here, since it's free. In Zoom, if you share a single application window, your audience [sees only that app](https://helpdesk.fau.edu/TDClient/2061/Portal/KB/PrintArticle?ID=156955). Email alerts and any other programs you switch to stay hidden.

1. In the Zoom meeting window, click **Share** or press [Command-Shift-S](https://macpaw.com/how-to/enable-screen-sharing-zoom).
2. Pick the one window you want from the thumbnails. To share more than one, [hold Shift while you choose](https://macpaw.com/how-to/enable-screen-sharing-zoom).
3. Click **Share**.

FaceTime on Mac works much the same way. Hover over a window and click [Share This Window](https://mac.install.guide/screensharing/), then click the purple FaceTime icon in the menu bar when you want to stop. For Google Meet, ContextBlur (which makes a blur extension) notes that Meet can limit sharing to a single Chrome tab but [can't hide sensitive information inside that tab](https://contextblur.app/blog/hide-sensitive-info-google-meet-screen-sharing).

The catch: if you share your browser window while the Stripe tab is in front, everyone still sees the numbers.

### Blur the figures inside the window

Browser extensions fill that gap by masking parts of the page itself, and a Mac menu bar app can tidy up the rest of the screen. The table lists the options the research covers. Where a price is listed, it's what the vendor page showed; prices change often, so check each vendor's page before you buy.

| Tool | What it does | How you trigger it | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| [BlurMask](https://blurmask.online/) | Blurs or redacts parts of a page. The vendor says it can auto-mask revenues and Stripe MRR when a page loads | Alt-B toggles blur mode | Free tier, $20 Lifetime Pro |
| [ContextBlur](https://contextblur.app/blog/hide-sensitive-info-google-meet-screen-sharing) | Chrome extension that blurs the page elements themselves, so you can hide a revenue column and keep the chart visible | See the note below the table | See vendor site |
| [SafeScreenShare](https://www.safescreenshare.com/blog/how-to-hide-notifications-while-screen-sharing) | Its Meeting Mode turns blur on when a Zoom, Meet or Teams call starts and off when it ends, all on-device | Automatic | See vendor site |
| [MeetingMenu](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/meetingmenu/id6538714770?mt=12) | Mac menu bar app (macOS 12 or later). One of its features, Hide Desktop & Windows, hides desktop icons and open windows in one click | One click | $12.99 |

A note on ContextBlur's shortcut: its own guide describes activating it with [Control-Shift-B in Google Sheets](https://contextblur.app/blog/blur-google-sheets-screen-sharing), then clicking cells, columns or ranges to blur them. The research doesn't confirm that the same shortcut works on other sites, so check the extension's settings before relying on it in a Stripe or Shopify tab.

BlurMask's paid tier adds [automatic masking of $, €, £ and ¥ amounts](https://landigpage-blurmask.adamlawcee.workers.dev/) after a 7-day Pro trial, and its Redact mode [blacks out rows completely](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/blurmask-hide-sensitive-data/). The research didn't confirm how well any of these extensions handle Stripe's or Shopify's admin pages specifically, so try one on your own dashboard before a real call.

### Mute notification banners with Focus

To keep new-order alerts off the screen, click **Control Center** in the menu bar, click **Focus**, then choose **Do Not Disturb**. You can also set it up in **System Settings → Focus** to [turn on automatically](https://www.safescreenshare.com/blog/how-to-hide-notifications-while-screen-sharing) at your usual call times. Focus stops new banners from appearing, but anything already on screen stays visible.

## Hide Revenue Figures and meeting mode in Moor

If you track sales with Moor's Shopify, Stripe, RevenueCat, App Store or Revenue Summary widgets, those tiles stay visible in your dock when you share your full screen. Moor has a few ways to hide them. They only affect Moor's own widgets and never your browser tabs, so you still need window sharing or an extension for the dashboard itself.

**Hide them by hand before a call:**

1. Click the Moor icon (the little boat) in the menu bar.
2. Open **Modes** and turn on **Hide Revenue Figures**.
3. Every money widget now shows •••• in place of amounts. Turn it off the same way after the call.

You can also press Control-Option-F, type "Hide Revenue" and choose the action, or use the **Hide Revenue Figures** action in Shortcuts.

**Let Moor hide them automatically.** Moor's documentation lists two cases where revenue hides on its own:

- **While screen sharing in Zoom**, revenue hides automatically. The documentation names only Zoom for this case.
- **Meeting mode** (**Settings → Automation → During calls**): when Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, Slack, WhatsApp, Discord or a browser (for Meet) has used a microphone for a few seconds, Moor hides revenue, silences chat and mail badges, and holds agent alerts until the call ends.

Whenever you want to be certain, turn on **Hide Revenue Figures** by hand before you share. Full details are in [Automation](/docs/automation/) and [Revenue](/docs/revenue/).

## Which approach is fastest

| Leak | Least fiddly fix | Effort per call |
|---|---|---|
| Other apps and tabs | Share one window (Command-Shift-S in Zoom) | A few clicks |
| Numbers inside the shared tab | Blur extension, or close the dashboard tab | A shortcut, or a one-time setup |
| Notification banners | Focus on a schedule | None once set up |
| Revenue widgets in Moor's dock | **Hide Revenue Figures** under Modes, or meeting mode in **Settings → Automation → During calls** | One menu click, or none |

A setup that works for most store owners: Focus on a schedule, Moor's meeting mode turned on, and sharing a single window every time. After that, the only thing left to check is which browser tab is in front.

## Troubleshooting

**The Stripe page is still readable.** Moor's settings don't reach your browser. Share a different window, or turn on your blur extension before you click Share.

**Moor's widgets still showed amounts on a call.** Meeting mode starts once a call app has used the microphone for a few seconds, so if you share right as the call starts, the amounts may show briefly. Turn on **Hide Revenue Figures** under **Modes** by hand before you share.

**A blur shortcut does nothing.** Shortcuts like ContextBlur's Control-Shift-B are documented for specific contexts (Google Sheets in its case). Open the extension's own menu or settings to turn blur on for the page you're on.

## Next steps

Schedule a Focus for your usual meeting times and test a blur extension on your real dashboard. If you use Moor's revenue widgets, look at the **During calls** option in **Settings → Automation**, then run a short test call with a friend to see what your audience sees.

## Common questions

### Does sharing one window in Zoom hide my Stripe dashboard?

Only if the Stripe dashboard isn't in the window you share. Zoom shows your audience only the application window you picked, so other apps and email alerts stay hidden. But if you share your browser while the Stripe tab is in front, everyone sees the figures. To hide numbers inside the shared window, use a blur extension or switch to a different tab before you share.

### Does Moor's Hide Revenue Figures blur my browser too?

No. Hide Revenue Figures only affects Moor's own money widgets, such as the Shopify, Stripe, RevenueCat, App Store and Revenue Summary tiles in your dock, which show dots in place of amounts. It doesn't change web pages, Stripe's dashboard or Shopify admin. To hide those as well, share a single window or use a browser blur extension alongside it.

### What's the surest way to hide Moor's revenue widgets before I share?

Turn on Hide Revenue Figures yourself from the Moor menu bar icon under Modes, or run the Hide Revenue Figures action in Shortcuts. Every money widget then shows dots in place of amounts, whatever call app you use. Doing this before you click Share is a simple habit that doesn't depend on any automatic option, and you can turn it off the same way afterwards.

### Is Do Not Disturb enough to hide revenue on a call?

Do Not Disturb stops notification banners, such as new-order alerts, from appearing while you share. It doesn't hide anything already on screen, like an open dashboard or a sales widget. Turn it on from Control Center → Focus, or schedule it in System Settings → Focus. Then use window sharing and blurring for whatever is still visible on your screen.
